(Except the name "Leha" is a corruption of Lough Dedad as the Lee of Tralee certainly is) The most likely place of worship would be at the Cross where the Kilquane spur goes south from our northern ancient road. Here 12 feet below the surface of the ground the underground river shows itself for about 10 feet and then disappears again. But there is no tradition of reverence for the place.This hole back of the Creamery is "Poll-a-thó-irt." It means of the thirst. Anything you throw in there is swallowed up. It should really be "Poll a' Tarta" (The hole of the thirst) so says Tom Brosnan (born 1846) of Ballynahinch. Others said it was "Poll a' thó-irk" but they were young persons. However the name Poll a' thó - irk" (Poll a' tSúgairc) is universal. Perhaps the older people disliked the name for some reason.
