- People had about two meals a day long ago. Potatoes were practically eaten at every meal. The people used to work before eating their breakfast. They used to have sour milk with their meals. Stampy and mealbread was the bread they used. Fish and meat were eaten. Eggs were always eaten at Easter. Earthenware mugs were used before cups were used.
