- (continued from previous page)there are fields called "the Cnocs". In John Cronin's farm Ardcrone there is a field which is called "Cnoc na Fola". A terrific battle was once fought there by two unknown tribes. A woman dressed in white, riding in a white horse is often seen there and anyone who goes into that field by night is sure to go astray.
A stream known as the "Caol" flows into the Brown Flesk at Ardcrone. A little stream enters the Maine at Farrandoctor. It is called Caol a' dúna. In Michael Mac Mahon's farm Ardcrone there is a hollow called Poll Bett. In Fitzgerald's farm there is another called "Poll na nGabhar." It is said that one time a great lot of goats were seen there. A field in Killeen is called páirc a' teampaill(continues on next page)
