    In olden days flax was grown in this district. The seed was bought at Currens Fair and was sown a few days later. When the flax was cut, it was put into a stream and stones put on top of it. When it got soft it was taken out and spread to dry in the sun. After a while the outer skin came off. It was then brought into a house and
