    machine around the fort the horse's traces broke.
    Every since that day nobody would venture to cut the hay within six yards of it. The mowing that day was done without anything unusual happening until the fort was reached.
    Neither was their any apparent reason why the traces should break.

  2. The Fort.
    There is a fort in the farm of Maurice Downey of Loughfouder, Knocknagoshel. The rings of this fort can still be traced though the outer ones have been in part worn away. It stands high above the level of the rest of the field. (contd.)
