Tim Leonard is gone but the 'megul' he wore he left to the Peelers behind him on shore.

    (continued from previous page)
    they'd mock,
His defence from the Justice he sought to get there
But they all swore he hunted and murdered the hare

Thady is gone though ye find him five pounds
'Tis a March Hare that blinked those Royal Irish hounds
The neighbours collected and paid him the fare
Let the duke wear the phiz at the wake of the 'ol' hare.

There is joy in the ship, there is glee on the shore
Thady is gone and ye'll see him no more
Ye may put up ye'r 'megul' 'tis now 'ad nauseam'
Ye may add it "bedad" to the British Museum

Ochone! Ullagone! Mavrone is mo mhairg
No more on the anvil at sweet Kilomarig
Will his hammer be heard to make shoes for the mare
He's outlawed for a 'megul' for hunting a hare
