While a mortal yet ponders by Lyre-a-dha-own,
Re-echo his praises thro' windings and mazes,
To him to the fame of his name and renown
May we who have lost him accost him in glory,
Where worth is rewarded for transient pains
And the sons of such sires and their daughters be hoary,
As stems of the gems of these honoured O'Keanes
Why then bemoan him, remember him, own him,
Whose splendid escutcheon devoid of all stain
Was splendidly borne untrammeleld untorn,
To shield at Knockane with renown his remains.
