  1. A Song (continued)

A long farewell to Headford hill its true I now must bid

    (continued from previous page)
At last said They we have our prey at our orders they must yield.
Come let us burst in the chairman first whose stalwart frame we see
If we wrongly swear what do we care we'll surely gain "a V"
Chrs. With a willing mind ect.
    7
This Balfour will his pledge fulfil on him we may depend
For our well planned oaths he'll pay us both and be our future friend.
A heart of steel like Robert Peel his courage is we know.
To back and bribe his castle hyde to give Erins Isle a blow.
Chrs. With a willing mind ect.
    8
When brought for trial the Justice smiled and rejoiced at seeing once more.
A patriot in their meshes caught as they often had before.
But their ugly jeers and vulgar sneers did not my spirits shake
For I'd boldly die on the scaffold high for dear old Ireland's sake.
Chrs. With a willing mind ect.
