In the local district people believe that rain will follow when the rainbow appears in the sky. God promised that he would not flood the world again and he sends the rainbow as a sign that he keep-ing his promise.
In olden times weather was finer and drier than of late. The local people say that the open-ing of the Panama Canal has some effect on the prevailing weather of late. Weather is getting wet and stormy as the years go by.
There are certain signs which the local people say are good or bad omens of the weather. Birds such as swallows fly very low when rain or storm is approaching. It is also supposed that there is storm at sea when the sea-gulls fly inland. The cat turns his back to the fire when rain is coming.
