    that he had some men employed 47 or 48 years ago working in the field adjoining the fort. The workmen came upon a large flat smooth flagstone. On lifting it they were astonished to find a rude stone coffin containing a number of human bones. Hastily covering the opening with the flag they closed up the whole place again. No further investigations have ever been made of this ancient stone coffin or burial chamber.
