barrel. When the glass gets clear the butter is made. When taking the butter out of the barrel the buttermilk is first left out into a tub. The butter is then washed twice with spring water and is then taken out by means of the hand. The butter is sometimes salted and sold in the home markets or it is often packed in boxes made for the occasion and sent to Cork. The butter milk is drunk as it is recommended for the health, and it is also used for making bread.
