- (continued from previous page)Killorglin, and the Cloughareen fair to Killarney. The fairs now a days are held in the towns. There is a fair field in every town. The fair field in Killarney is owned by Lord Kenmare and the one in Killorglin is owned by Gerald Foley, Anglont. Those who put the cattle into the fair field have to pay custom on every head of cattle. Custom is charged to pay the rent and rates for the fair field. When a person sells an animal it is the custom to give the rope or halter with it so that the luck would follow the animal. The cattle were marked with mud and sometimes with blue or red dye.
