- Potatoes are grown on our farm and on every farm. About three acres are sown under potatoes every year. My father prepares the ground before it is ploughed.
The potatoes are sometimes sown in ridges but mostly in drills. The ridges are made with a spade and the drills are made with a plough. Wooden ploughs were used and there are several of them left.
