  1. The people long ago used to have three meals:- breakfast, dinner, supper. At 8 o'clock in the morning breakfast was, and supper at 7:30 o'clock. The people used to work before breakfast. They used to be up at candle-light. Potatoes and butter-milk were used at every meal. The table was in the middle of the floor.
    Oaten meal bread was generally eaten. First the flour and oaten meal were mixed. Then butter-milk was put in to it and it was stired. Then more flour was put into it and then it is put on a pan, and then it is put into the oven. Salt meat was eaten. Herring and vegetables were used.
