- Derrynoose and Cremartin played in Mooney's field in Cremartin. Thirteen men played on each side. This match was played forty years ago. Cremartin won but the score is forgotten by the people. That time the players could kick the ball half a mile. They were dressed in their shirts and trousers and ordinary boots. Goal posts were used and the goal line was marked by saw-dust.
