The seventh son, or seventh daughter, has a charm that can cure different ailments by this charm.
The cure of the strain is wrought by prayer. A man who has the cure can give it to a woman and a woman can give it to a man, but no woman can give it to another woman.
Persons who have the cure of the strain get it from their parents when dying.
