    I heard Grannie telling a story about a woman who lived in Tullycorbet named Mrs Hughes. She was not a Catholic and was always looked upon as being rather queer in her manner. One day there was a big hunt the hunt had been in progress for a long time and could not rise a hare. They met Mrs Hughes beside her own house and offered her a £1 if she would rise a hare for them.
    She immediately went into the house and a hare ran out. The dogs followed it all day long and could not come near it to kill it no matter how fast they went. When both dogs and men were exhausted the hare ran towards the house again and disappeared inside. The huntsmen found that they were hunting Mrs Hughes in the
