redbreast got its name. At the time
of Our Lord's Crucifixion the robin
came and tried to pull the
thorns out his sacred Head,
but failed. When the robin was doing this good deed, a drop of
Our Lord's Blood fell on its breast, and that is how it got the
name of robin redbreast.
