Thistles, dockens, and ragweeds only grow in good rank soil.Uses of herbs:(i) Dockens: The juice of either the seeds or the roots, got by boiling them in water is taken as a cure for a cough.
Large does of this are also given to horses with colds(ii) To cure the sting of a nettle, rub a leaf of the docken, to the sore or blister, saying three times"Docken, docken in and out,
Take the sting of a nettle out."(i) Nettles: Nettle soup, made by boiling the stems and leaves in water, is given as medicine to persons suffering from measles. After a few drinks, the rash begins(continues on next page)- Collector
