- Candles of different kinds were made locally. The rush and the resin candle. A rush was peeled and left over for several day to dry. Fat was melted in a cam or oval shaped melted pot.
The dried rush was drawn through the hot fat and left to cool. This was done several times until the candle was of the required thickness.
