  1. We have a churn at home. It is 2 ft. 4 ins. high, 5 ft. round the top, and 5 ft. 4 ins at the bottom. It is a round churn. The churn, dash, and lid are also used.
    Butter is made every week. Whoever is in the house usually churns. If any strangers come into the house, while the churning is being made, they usually help.
    It takes about one hour to do the churning. It is done by hand. When little pieces of butter come up on the lid, some cold water is poured in, and then the churning is finished.
    The things for making up the butter are the butter print, and the clapper. A strainer is used for lifting the butter out of the churn.
