food that was very much practiced in the olden times was collcannon or "Cally". In olden times the people used not eat after eight or nine o'clock. a Christmas they used to think it a great treat to have boxty. It was also an old custom to eat a lot of eggs on Easter Sunday morning and on November night they used to have apples and nuts. Tea was first used in the eighteenth century. Before cup became common, saucepans and noggins were used in our town-land.
