  1. In the town of Ballymote, Co. Sligo Barony of Corran, Éire, there is an old castle situated two miles east of this school. It was built by De Burgo, the Red Earl in the year 1300. It is 638 years old. The likes of those Castles were built to protect the soldiers from their enemy.
It is very high with huge walls and big stone-steps leading up to the top. There is a good portion of it knocked down. The floor of is is tarred and many people play tennis in it. There is a large door on it and a little road leading from it towards the County road
The Franciscan monastery is sutuated in front of our master's house not very far from the castle and about two miles from our home
