- There was once a married man who was continually complaining about the hard work he had to do in the field toward what his wife had to do inside.
One day when his wife was tired listening to him she told him she would exchange with him. He agreed and stayed inside. The work he had to do was, to churn the cream, bring water from the well, boil a pot of soup, let out the cow in the field and a mind the baby. When he had made the butter he thought of the fine half barrel of ale that was in the parlour and he went down for a cup full. When he had taken the cork from the barrel he heard a great noise in the kitchen and he rushed up to see what was wrong and took the cup and cork in his hand.(continues on next page)- Collector
