  1. If the sky is red in the morning it will be raining in the evening. If the sky is red in the evening it will be fine in the morning. The stars falling at night is the sign of rain. A ring around the moon at night is the sign of rain. When the smoke goes straight up we may expect fine weather. The crows fly low before rain. If the soot is falling it is the sign of bad weather. If the floor is weeping it is sometimes the sign of fine weather and sometimes the sign of a break in the weather and plenty of rain. When the midges are busy it is the sign of bad weather. When there is a rainbow in the sky the old people say that the weather is broken. When it is going to rain the sun is very watery. A rainbow in the morning is the sign of hard weather. But if the rainbow is in the evening the weather is going to be fine and soft. The big grey fog brings rain. There is a cold wind blowing from the South when we are going to have rain. When the
