    When it is sung the people of the house give them a few pence to bury the wren. When evening comes they divide the money equally and they generally have a good time.
    Another festival that is observed is Hallow'een. One that night the people go the to different houses and play games of all kinds. They place apples in a basin of water, dip their heads in it, and try to pick up the apple. They also mash potatoes and leave some of it out on the window for the pucaí. On the twenty-ninth of June people gather together at the crossroad and make bonfires. Long ago when bachelors were coming down Mass their backs were chalked and numbers put on them.
