    wooden ploughs and before that they dug the ground with spades. The blacksmith made the head and the carpenter made the handle.
    There are several varieties of potatoes such as Champions, Up-to-Dates, Araan Banners, Kerrs-Pinks, May-Queens and Epicures. The eating potatoes are Champions, May-Queens and Epicures. The feeding potatoes are Up-to-Dates, Arran Banners and Kerrs-Pinks. The women cut the seed potatoes but when there are cutting them they must be sure to leave an eye on each set and when there is enough seed cut the men shake lime on them.
    When the potatoes are not over the ground the tops are taken off the drills with a saddle harrow to give the potatoes a chance to come up through the clay and if there is any weeds in the potatoes the farmer gathers help for a day or two until they are wed and then they are moulded. After a few weeks they are sprayed with a mixture of lime and bluestone to keep away a disease called the blight.
    In Autumn the farmer takes out his potatoes. He gathers help for a week until the potatoes are all gathered. Some potatoes take a rest on a light hill and it does
