   delighted at the question and he brought the Dr to its site.
   The Well was closed up the place overgrown with shrubs and weeds and no traces of its former importance. From the old man he gathered the following items of information.
   The Well was known as St Mullin's and there was a two day patron to it in the harvest at the end of August or beginning of september (St. Malin's day was on the 30th August)
   This was stopped by the then Parish Priest, Rev Charles Mc Dermott (1817-1844) on account of rowdyism of visitors. However people continued to visit the Well up to 1836 when it was closed by Roger Anketell, the churchwarden of Errigal, because a woman coming from Aughnacloy market strayed into it and was drowned.
   Another account says that there was a "shebeen" at Errigal, and a woman left the "shebeen" and went down to the
