  1. In former times people used to do different works at home such as, candles, soap, baskets, spinning and weaving dyeing of clothes, thatching, rope making tanning of leather nail making and pig rings
    The making of candles was a chief work which was carried on at every house, they were made from fat of animals melted down and made into the shape of a candle, and the pith of rush put up the middle of it
    Soap was made from the fat of animals boiled with lime and caustic soda.
