A few years ago, a girl from this place was married near Tralee, and when a child of hers, who died, was being taken from the bed and put in the coffin, the "mother-in-law" rushed to turn the matress or "tick" as it was called. But the childs mother sat or stretched herself on the tick and would not allow the mother-in-law turn the tick , until the coffin had left the house.- Informant
