- "Travelling people" still call at my house (townland of Caherdean, parish of Ballyahr, Co. Kerry). These travelling people are called tinkers. The same people have been paying periodical visits for many years. They are not very poor.
They sell small articles. Amongst the articles they sell are studs for shirts, pins for collars, boot and shoe laces, tin vessels, such as saucepans and gallons; and pieces of linoleum. People often buy from them. They obtain the articles which they(continues on next page)- Collector
