    said to grow where the soil is good. The chickweed and the groundsel are found only in poor soils.
    Formerly the nettle and the dandelion were used as food for animals. Nettles were used for pigs. they were cut into small pieces. Then hot porridge made from Indian meal and water was mixed with them. When this preparation was cool it was served to pigs. The dandelion was also used as food for pigs and ducks. It was prepared as in the case of nettles.
