    there is bad.
    There is a special fair-place in Killarney and Tralee. In the other towns mentioned the fair is held in the streets. Toll or "custom” is paid on the cattle sold at every fair. Six pence is the toll paid on a cow or a heifer. Three pence is the toll paid on a calf or a pig and two pence on a bonham. In Killarney half the "custom" is received by the Urban Council. The other half is given to Lord Kenmare whose demense is adjacent to the town I don’t know who receives the toll paid at the other fairs.
    When the animal is sold luck-money is given. This is called "luck-penny". The "luck-penny" given on pigs and bonhams, sheep and lambs is one shilling for each animal. Two shillings is given on a calf, heifer or cow and six pence in very pound is paid on a horse.
    When a bargain is nearing completion the parties often strike hands. The buyer
