- Long ago the people used the forts as burying grounds.
These were big gables covered on top and a big flag. There is a fort in Ceanncnucaire and people tell a very interesting story about it.
One day a man was walking above the fort and he saw a hare lying close to the fort. He started to throw stones at him be he couldn't strike him. The man went home. Next day he and another man came with a gun. The hare was in the same place. They started to fire shots at him, but failed in hitting him. It is said that they fired fifteen shots at him. The hare disappeared and was never seen again.- Informant
