- There was a girl who lived in Croghan Castle and she saved a priests life. There were a lot of men plotting to kill the priest. He was riding a mule and when he stopped outside the castle she came outside and spole to him in Irish. Nobody knew what she was talking about but the priest. Then the mule leaped from Croghan Hill to Carrick Hill. You can see the track of the mules feet on Carrick Hill and it is called the "Mules Leap" (Both of these hills are near Edenderry, Co Offaly).
- There was a man named Connolly and he made a wooden bicycle and rode it in a sports in Kilrainey, (Moyvalley) and won a prize.
