If anybody robbed a swallow's nest and if he had a cow milking the cow would (go dry in [?]) milk (dry) blood and the swallows would desert that place.
If [?] anybody injured a swan he would be drowned. There is a story that a man killed a swan and he was drowned in the same place. The reason why a robin has a red breast is -: Long ago there was a big fire in some part of the world. That was the only fire in the world, and if that had gone out there would be no fire today. One day the man in charge of the fire fell asleep and when a robin came that way there was only one ember left. The robin began flapping his wings and the bit of fire got bigger. The man woke up and began to feed the fire with wood. While the robin had been flapping his wings the feathers on his breast got scorched and from that day to this the robin has a red breast.
