People suffering from sore eyes bathe them in the water and are cured.
There is told a story of a fish being in the well. Once a man brought it and put it on a pan to cook. The fish disappeared, and it was seen afterwards in the well with one of its sides burned.
Tobar Ailbe is on the Braluive Mountains. It is situated in a lonely place. At it is a marble cross and a little house without a roof. Ailbe, the saint connected with the well, was the first priest ordained by St. Patrick after crossing the Shannon.
