  1. There are not as many fairs held in the neighbourhood nowadays, as there were in days gone by, because now, they are more numerous, and are held in towns. Long ago, there used to be a fair held in Granlahan, but now it is changed to Ballinlough. The principal fairs during the year were the 31st May, 5th July, 29th September, and 31st October, but instead now, we have a fair every month.
