- There was another school at the bottom of Cloonarkin hill. It was situated on the side of the road. A man named "Sean Kenny" taught in it. Catechism was the principal subject taught. It was on a slate the pupils used to write.
This "Sean" Kenny must have been a very peculiar man. He used to vaccinate the children of the countryside. Big people used to go to him , and he used to bleed them at the back of their ears for the good of their health.
There was a man named Lynch who owned a good deal of cattle, and he used to send for "Sean" to bleed the cattle. When the cattle were bled they used to get fat.(continues on next page)
