    When the land Commission made a road to the residence of Jim Flynn
    The ginger he was Crawley and he came from near Loughglynn
    And his favourite man was Foley with his leggings tied with strings,
    His workmen they were skilful but alas they were but few
    And if you listen unto me their names I will tell you,
    Big Duffy, Tom from Cregga Frank Neary and McHugh
    And not forgetting Matt Farrell and Tom McDermott too,
    There is also another man whose name is Ignatius Farrell,
    He plays the violin and he amuses all the ladies from Kiltrustan to Elphin,
    Jack Connell is a middle aged man, a carpenter by trade
    He worked at the ditches till they were all made,
    Luke Reddy is his brother in law and they like each other well and (his) he worked his share also,
    Aistin Diffley is a tall young man an ask for Pat Diffley and Mickey's Peter sure they always worked in coe,
    They are tow melodeon players and a pleasure to the ear,
    And no matter where those two boys go there is always joy and cheer,
    Joe Neary is a ploughman and a ploughing he had to go,
    He sent his brother Paddy although he is but low,
    And if you see him in the evening he is always bright and gay,
