It is unlucky if the bride visits her old home within a month of her marriage. - A horse skin full of gold is supposed to be hidden in Kiltrustan under a bush. It was hidden there by a highwayman named O'Hara who was hanged in Roscommon about a hundred years ago.
On the morning of his execution he asked if there was any one present from Kiltrustan, as he wished to tell where the gold was hidden.
