The Braucer is owned by James Walsh of Ballymountain. It was formerly owned by a man named Pat the Braucer. He lived in a house in that field but the house has now disappeared. The name Braucer was on the field before he lived there. Because he lived in this field he got the name Pat the Braucer. The word Braucer probably has some connection with the word Bráca which means a harrow.
The Fraochán Beag is owned by Patrick Whelan of Portnahully.
The Gort Greannach is owned by Patrick Delahunty and it gets its name because of its gravelly soil.
The Móin Uí Róiste is owned by Thomas Walsh of Mountneill.
The Bán na h-átha is owned by Mary Whelan of Portnahully
The Bán Fada which means the long field is owned by John Whelan of Portnahully.
The Garrda Fada is owned by John Quinn of Portnahully. There are other names of fields the meanings of which are not so clear such as :- Bouncil, Gurtna Claista, Gurtna h-urta, Clais na Falla, Ál Mór, Cúlúg, Garrdha na béana, Bán Fonn and Clais Torn.
