    Corcoran bent down a bough to him to fill his pockets.
    Now the O'Donnells had a pet calf that was (was) very bold. The farm had a reputation of being haunted.
    The calf, being in the orchard, gave O'Neill a running puck. Thinking it was a ghost, O'Neill letting go of the branch, ran yelling from the orchard. Corcoran who was sitting on the branch was thrown several feet into the air, when it sprang into place.
    All the raiders either fell or scrambled down from the trees and took to their heels.
