- About 80 or 90 years ago the hunt was out in the Mile Post which is situated on the Main Ross Road about a mile from Waterford and went to Holly Lake. The fox jumped into the lake. The hounds and the whipper followed him. The whipper tried to jump across the lake but was drowned. No huntsman ever goes there since because they say it is unlucky.
