- In a field belonging to Roches of Tullogher, there was an old school which was built in the seventeenth century. The ruins were to be seen about 20 years ago. It was built of stone and when Mr Tom Roche was ploughing the field, he had a hard job to shift the foundation stones. He found two old poetry books, an Irish book and an English book and a bundle of copy books in a wooden box wrapped in an animal skin. He kept the books for a long time and one of the children burned them.
