The irish name for Lukeswell is "Tobar-na-h-abha-duibhe". It got its name from a Holy well that is in the village. There are eight houses in the village, and there are eight families in the village also. There are about thirty people in the village. Doherty is the most common name in the village. There are only two thatched houses in the village. The oldest inhabitant in the village is Mrs Hoban.
- I live in the village of Knockmoylan in the parish of Ballyhale in the Barony of Knocktopher in the County Kilkenny. Knockmoylan lies to the south-west of our school at about a distance of a mile. The Irish name for Knockmoylan is Crochmaolán. It means the little bald hill. It got its name from a little bald hill that is near the village. There are four houses in the village.
