    were coming up the road. Then the peelers turned up the lane so as to avoid the crowds that were following them.
    As they turned up the lane another crowd was waiting in the lane. Then James Treacy caught Chief Gibbons' horse by the reins and demanded Butler the proctor. But Chief Gibbons refused and he shot Treacy.
    Then the fight began and the peelers were beaten. Fourteen of the peelers were killed and three of the farmers. Their names are Treacy, Power and Whelan.
