About 60 years ago there was a great flood in Mullinavat, it rained for about seven days and the rain fell so heavy that as well as the rivers overflowing the water collected on the sides of the railway. The railway runs at the back of the houses and is on a height. On the seventh night the water rushed down from the railway and entered several of the houses.
