Playing Marbles
Any number of boys can play this game. First, all the boys dig a small, round hole. Then each boy stands back about five yards from the hole. Each boy throws nine marbles, or what ever number they agree to, at the hole. Each boy throws his marbles, one by one into the hole. If one boy gets in five and another eight , then the boy who has the eight marbles in wins the other boy's nine. You can keep playing until you have won all the marbles from the other boys, or until you lose your own marbles.Bernard Malone, 6 Stephen Street, Kilkenny- Collector
