  1. Fields
    Most of the fields in this district are called according to their owners. Some have special names although they have no historical connections. The "Gabhallan" meaning "fork" is situated near Mount Juliet.
    In the townsland of Ballydonnell there is a field known as the "O field" because of a round ring of trees in the centre. The Inche is a bit of low lying land near the river Nore. Other fields are known according to the amount of land they contain, as the five acres.
    "Bán-na-daoine" which is in Lagan derived its name
